South German/Ulm, ca. 1480/149071 x 49 cm
Limewood, fine relief carving, the polychromy removed. The central figures of Mary and Joseph are depicted in large scale, the little Christ Child lies between them on a cloth. A stable building is indicated in the background, from which an ox and donkey are looking out. In the upper right half of the picture a shepherd with his flock is shown, three angels with a banner are leading him on their way to the Holy Family. Beautiful, detailed work. The window replaced, replaced parts at the edges, at the roof, at the lower border and at the extremities. Panel reworked.
